Mary Bourke : I want an Irish passport
Everyone wants an Irish passport but what does being Irish really mean? Is there more than just drinking and the craic? Award-winning comic Mary Bourke presents a hilarious show on Irish identity.
‘The audience loved her’ (Independent).
‘An hour packed with fine routines and beautifully written gags’ (Scotsman).
The director (John Gordillo) thinks the show is about Simon’s relationship with sex, gender and sexuality. Simon (the comedian) thinks it’s about social media. Given how quickly Simon checks his phone after he’s cum, it could be about both.
Don’t want to set your expectations too high but Simon has also just finished the best comedy course available: an unstable upbringing.
This show covers topics including: Disney Princesses impact on mental health, why habits are more important than facts, how anxiety and social pressure will ruin your life if you don’t take control of it first, how to ruin a threeway, why you should never ask your therapist out and more (probably, but isn’t that enough for you?!)
“You’re a more authentic John Oliver” – comedian Doug Stanhope
“What you’re doing is great… the problem is nobody understands it.” – Iain Coyle (Dave / UKTV Comedy Commissioner)
