Our Venue
Our venue faces a difficult time ahead because we have closed the doors for the foreseeable future due to the current pandemic. Our income has been reduced to nothing and on top of this for each show that is either re-scheduled or cancelled we face the daunting task of refunds. We also do not know how long before we will be able to open again as the deadline of 4th July seems impossible for us with current guidelines. You will also be DIRECTLY supporting small, local independent business. Just before the lockdown we began repair works on our 300 year old building and were hoping to make the money back through putting on even more shows exactly when lockdown began. Of course this has not happened as we have been closed since.
Your Donation
As a huge part of Brighton’s independant nightlife we want to give our venue the best chance of returning when restrictions are removed and your donations will be used to pay essential bills such as insurance, outstanding supplier invoices, rent, necessary upgrades to conform with social distancing guideliness and artists/promoter settlements. It will also go towards upkeep of the building which is a listed building in a protected area.
Beyond This
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
